Ph.D. candidate Daniel Drain will defend his dissertation “Saving Finite Freedom: On the Meaning of Freedom in Hans Urs von Balthasar’s Theology of Redemption“ on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in McGivney 214.

His dissertation board includes Dr. Nicholas Healy (director), Dr. David C. Schindler, and Dr. Margaret McCarthy from the Institute faculty. The external grader is Dr. Jonathan Ciraulo, a member of the faculty of the School of the Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University of America.
