New Faculty Article: “Say ‘No’ to the New Binary”

Dr. Margaret Harper McCarthy, Associate Professor of Theological Anthropology, published an article with Public Discourse, the Journal of the Witherspoon Institute. The article is titled “Say ‘No’ to the New Binary” and can be accessed through the journal’s website.

Dr. McCarthy’s article begins with the following statement:

“The contemporary distinction between sex and gender downgrades human beings to ‘biological’ males or females with detached ‘identities.’ We should reject this, and insist instead that sexual difference is a fundamental component of personality, one of its modes of being.”
