1 Male Roommate – Brookland, Washington D.C.

Hi! Currently, we are looking for a fourth roommate to join our beautiful, four-story townhouse in Brookland, DC. The fully furnished townhouse is located right behind the Dominican House of Studies and the USCCB. It is a 7 minute walk to McGivney Hall and the Brookland-CUA metro station. Every year for seven years, this townhouse hosted students that attended the JPII Institute. This coming year one roommate sharing the master bedroom will be an incoming master’s student at the Institute. The townhouse is owned by devout Catholics. This will be my fourth year living in the townhouse, and we keep the place very clean.

The available room is a single bedroom with a large closet and private full bath. The available bedroom is the only room not furnished; however, there is a bed left by a previous roommate that you can use if you would like. The rent for this room is $1,150/month, and utilities on average are $95/month. The one-year lease will start on August 1st, 2024.

This coming year we hope to have a strong sense of community, so if you are interested in living with a group of Catholic men striving to live virtuously, then this is the place to be! The three of us are also busy with our jobs and studies, so there will be plenty of space and time to spend by yourself.

If you are interested in learning more about the place or to see pictures, please feel free to text or call me at 610-704-2436. Thanks! Pax, Joe

Catholic Men’s House Looking for 1 Male Roommate – Silver Spring, MD

Our Catholic men’s house in Silver Spring, MD has a room opening beginning in July 1, 2024. We are a longtime group house (affectionately known as ‘Valhalla’ to its present and former occupants) that would love to hear from you if you’re interested in a place for the upcoming school year.

Our house is located about 3 minutes (by foot) from the Forest Glen metro stop on the Red line, which is almost exactly 15 minutes to the CUA metro stop. It’s in a quiet and suburban part of Silver Spring (far from the antics of Brookland), with easy access to grocery shopping and beautiful parks/walking trails. We are also an 8 minute walk from the weekly TLM at Old St. John’s, as well as a 12 minute walk to new St. John’s, and a short drive to St. Bernadette’s.

The house itself is a 5 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom. The room is a large basement bedroom for $580/mo. + utilities (~$100/mo). The lease is month-to-month.

There are five of us that live in the house–we like to keep things clean, and enjoy spending time together watching movies, talking philosophical/theological shop, or hosting the occasional party. There’s plenty of space to spend time by yourself when you want, but also lots of opportunities for community when you feel like it.

Please email me, Taylor Abels, at [email protected] if you’re interested, phone (512) 820-3461. We’ve hosted many CUA men (including myself) over the years, and regularly have openings, so feel free to shoot me a message about any future openings or rooming possibilities as well!

Reduced Rent in Exchange for Domestic Help – Hyattsville, MD

We’re a couple of Institute Grads who are about to welcome our fifth child and who need some help! We live in Hyattsville, right across the street from St. Jerome’s parish and Academy. We have two adjoining rooms plus a bathroom available on the main floor of our house (one of the rooms is 110 sqft, the other is 100 sqft). The rooms have a private entrance. We would love to offer reduced rent for help with childcare and other domestic duties. We would be open to different amounts of help depending on the amount of time you might have available and the amount you can afford to pay in rent: in general, a higher amount of help each month would mean lower rent. If you’re interested in more info, please contact Mike at [email protected]. Thank you!

Seeking 1 Male Roommate

I am a newly accepted student at the Pontifical JP II Institute in DC. I just signed a lease (Aug. 24, 2023 – May 31, 2024) to rent a fully-furnished, studio-style room beautifully built on the second floor of a barn (1st floor is a woodshop that we can use). The Landlord has agreed to allow me to search for a roommate in order to split the rent. Rent, if split, will be $450/mo (plus utilities). The barn is adjacent to a separate, neighboring house occupied by 2 women (CUA students) with whom we split the utilities. Parking is on the street – the Landlord says he hasn’t heard of any incidents. There is room in the barn to store bicycles on the 1st floor. The location is about 10min from CUA/the Basilica/the JP II Institute. As a last thing, I will also likely be bringing my small dog (Bichon Frise) who will be living in the barn as well.

Based on what I have seen, this is a great price and area for a man who is comfortable sharing their living space. Please email me if you are interested: Dixon at [email protected].
